So I
came across this website during one of my browsing, and I think it's
going to be a really exciting event. If they do actually create some
sort of pressure on the parliament to seriously address the issue of
women driving in Saudi, then this event could actually be successful.
Not to be naive but women have tried to stir public attention in the
past and it didn't necessarily go very well. There is an argument
that Saudi women don't really want to drive ignoring the large numbers
that actually do. However, if the ban on women driving were to be
lifted, women who want to drive can whereas the latter can simply choose
not to. In this sense, no one will be forced to do what they don't want
to do.
Good luck to the women over there.
